Damnation Festival veterans ANAAL NATHRAKH will return to lay waste to Leeds this year for the sixth installment of the U.K.'s finest metal event. They'll be joined by French experimental duo ALCEST, the synth-driven mathcore of ROLO TOMASSI and crusty Brummie brothers-in-arms FUKPIG, who make their Damnation debut after a crushing performance at Deathfest earlier this year.
ANAAL NATHRAKH — who headlined the Terrorizer Stage three years ago — will unleash their black metal-tinged grindcore at Leeds University Union, on Saturday, November 6, 2010, in what is their only planned U.K show of 2010.
The latest additions join the already confirmed THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN and reformed EARTHTONE9 with many more bands to be announced across three stages.
Festival director Gavin McInally said: "No band — not even the mighty CARCASS — has been requested to return to Damnation Festival by the fans as often as ANAAL NATHRAKH so it's a pleasure, and a relief, to be able to make that happen.
"In contrast to the aural chaos of NATHRAKH, ALCEST will bring a touch of French sophistication to proceedings with their haunting, black metal inspired shoegaze.
"ROLO TOMASSI are one of the rising stars of the current U.K. metal scene and it's great to be able to host their energetic live show this year.
"As for FUKPIG, well the devastation at Deathfest is responsible for their return!"
Tickets are priced £27 and are available from See Tickets, Ticketline and Leeds Tickets.

The Rock am Ring (Rock at the Ring) and Rock im Park (Rock in the Park) festivals are two simultaneous rock music festivals held annually in Germany. While Rock am Ring takes place at the Nürburgring racetrack in the west of Germany, Rock im Park takes place in and around the Frankenstadion in Nuremberg, in the south of Germany.
Both festivals are usually regarded as one event with a mostly identical lineup for both festivals. All artists perform one day at Nürburgring and another day in Nuremberg during the three day event. There have been minor exceptions in the past years where an artist will be announced for one of the festivals only.
Together Rock im Park and Rock am Ring are the largest music festivals in Germany and one of the largest in the world with a combined attendance of just over 150,000 people in 2007, selling out both events in advance for the first time

Sonisphere Festival

The Sonisphere Festival is a series of summer music festivals to take place across Europe in June 2009 and summer 2010. The festival is owned and promoted by Kilimanjaro Live with financial backing from AEG.
The idea for Sonisphere was first conceived when Stuart Galbraith was working for now business rivals and organisers of Download Festival, Live Nation. The plan was to hold a series of events that would 'translate into other territories'. The event did not begin to materialize, however, until Galbraith left Live Nation for events company Kilamanjaro Live.
Galbraith gained the support of influential metal band Metallica who were claimed to help curate the festival in coming years; however, rumours were quickly denied of their signing a multi-million pound deal which would see them headline the festival for three years.[2] Galbraith's plans for future festivals are to increase the number of festivals, making the event global rather than local to Europe, expanding the UK event into a 3-day festival, and increasing the UK capacity from 40,000 to 60,000 attendees.
